Language and Changing Political Status in Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao
Edited by Nicholas Faraclas, Ronald Severing, Christa Weijer, Liesbeth Echteld
The Eastern Caribbean Islands Cultures Conference (ECICC) was held on the island of Dominica in 2009. The ECICC 2009 call for papers invited researchers to present results of their work with the aim of eventually publishing new contributions on the languages, literatures, and cultures of the Caribbean. The participants responded enthusiastically to the call and the results are presented in two volumes. A number of articles in both volumes are local contributions which were submitted on invitation by the editors after the conference. This book, Crossing shifting Boundaries: Language and Changing Political Status in Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, offers an exciting and diverse array of new points of view on language and culture in the ABC Islands.
